customizing display text
i have seen this done before i was wondering how it is done i have searched this site along with youtube and have not found anything so any help would be apriciated

the metra kit is the only aftermarket kit that let's you put in custom text.

I always thought about doing the Metra kit, but I don't think it would look right with my stock Navi.

i dont know if i'd say metra was the "go big or go home option".. it was the cheaper of the two HU replacement options.

Well idk if u get a nice ddin deck that blends in nice with the car I'd say go for it metra is worth it all the way but all in all keep the stock look add mp3 and iPod cable and ur good looks 100 times better than any aftermarket finish u can find

Yeah, I seen someone hook up a CarPC and add a touch screen overlay for thier stock Navi as like a multimedia thing. Probably the route I'm going to go.

MJR - not that anyone knows of.

the only options as of now are metra kit, potentially the guy designing the gauges to display there, or if you have some EE experience you could do it yourself. funny thing is, doing a piggy back of the OE hardware wouldnt be that hard. some pull up/downs, timers(555 maybe) driven like any other seg display. surprised no one did it that way years ago
