OK, so I upgraded my HU in my 09 RX8, well my whole stereo actually, and about 2 weeks after I did this my temp sensor decided it would only read 70 degrees. The weird part about this is it will work when the temperature is under 70, but not above. I have taken it to the dealer and they replaced the sensor, and I get the same thing. I've scoured the forums but can't find anything that works. So onto my questions:
1) Does the stock temp sensor feed through the HU and I am just getting erroneous readings? I've spoken to a couple of the 8's maintenance people and get the run around.
2) Can too big of a center speaker affect the digital readout? I know a strong enough EMF can fubar some things, but that would really seem like a design flaw to me. The one I have in there now has a hefty magnet on it.
3) Is there a way to turn it off without the original HU installed, because I live in South Texas and I am really getting annoyed at seeing 70 degrees when I am pretty sure it's up in the 9000s?
Thanks in advance.

i've had the same issue since the day i installed my corksport adapter for an aftermarket HU. I know the metra guys have had the same issues. If you have the metra kit i would suggest reading their topic, i know there have been firmware upgrades for issues like this. If you have the corksport I suggest you just ignore the temp sensor like I do
The 09 Metra kit doesn't come with the additional Axxess box because Mazda changed the A/C integration on the newer models. So I just presume that it needs the old stereo, and that isn't going to happen so I just have to ignore it.
