M Theory: Code Red

I've noticed lately that I have quite a loss in power. In the last month I have put in a new aluminum radiator, coils and wires and doing the plugs today. A friend told me that my SSV valve needs cleaning and I am wondering if that is causing the issue. There hasn't been much of a pattern that I have picked up on but when driving on the freeway if I floor it it barely wants to go anywhere and instead of the torque I used to get it just feels like a puttering sensation. It almost feels as if something is clogged like a fuel pump or injector. If I downshift I get a little more out of it and if I go up any hills I practically have to get into the lowest gear possible to get up it. Last night driving in Echo Park and was going up a steep hill in 2nd gear I was actually losing speed and had to put the car into 1st just to have enough power to get up the hill. Going downhills is fine though, all my torque comes back. Any suggestions are always welcome.

Sounds like a classic case of a dying fuel pump since your situations seem to be always uphill. I'd test the fuel pressure first though just to make sure.
