Serviced my 8 today...died @ Wawa
So here is the story. I put my car into be serviced on Monday. I wanted the 50,000mi maintenance done. As well as the tires rotated and an oil change. I was having issues shifting at high RPMs and i wanted them to look at that. Also, I noticed that I had a rough idle.
I get a call from the dealership (North Penn Imports). Here is the list of what they found:
2 Collapsed Motor Mounts
1 Partially unscrewed Trailing spark plug
1 Corroded Spark plug wire
The battery failed the load test
The Master Clutch Solenoid was leaking and not actuating fully
New Gear Oil
New Tranny Fluid
New Engine Coolant
So I get it all done. Including all 4 sparks replaced and new wires for all four.
I get my car today, get in, turn it on. Holy **** it was better then new. So i test shifting @ redline from 1st to 2nd. Engaged perfectly. I was very very happy.
About 3 miles or so down the road. I stop at the Wawa at Rt 63 and Rt 202. Time for dinner. I turn my 8 off (engine was nice and warm now). I get my sandwich and go to start it...
Nothing. I get all the idiot lights. But nothing. No noise outta the engine bay. My heart drops. I think to myself, this can't be real. I try again. Nothing. I check the power terminals. They are all firm and clean. I try one more time. nothing.
I had to get it towed. After waiting 40 minutes in the cold, I get picked up with a loaner. A brand new, fully loaded 2009 Mazda 6. Its no 8 but it better then the POS mazda 3 i had prior.
Now i paid over $700 for those repairs...and my car died just down the road. Its in worse shape now then when i took it to the dealership. I will post more info tomorrow when I hear from the dealership.

The dealership just called. Apparently the starter died, which is covered by warranty. They are saying that the warranty company (Zurich) will charge me another $100 deductible. Which is BS. Because the car could have been serviced the same day. BUT, there is rush hour traffic and I had to wait for the Tow to get my car.

Warranty covered starter. The dealership paid for the tow. I'll be getting the car soon and we'll see how it starts and drives.
