Replacement core
Hello all. After a recent tropical storm, I drove into a pool of water which I didn't see and hydro-locked my engine and need to purchase a replacement/rebuilt core. I have located one at Mazmart in Atlanta, but shipping to Jamaica is prohibitive.
Does anyone know of a source for a rebuilt core in the Miami area? The car is a 2005, 6MT which was originally purchased from Japan. I will ship my core up in part exchange if possible.

You dont need to replace ur engine just because it has water in it.
un-screw the plugs, hand turn the engine or just keep cranking it till some water comes out, leave it like that under the sun for a few days (or leave a fan around blowing it for a few days.
replace it with new plugs and crank, it should fire up.

i dont know what could be jammed..i guess an apex seal could have dislodged and jammed itself between the rotor and the housing but i figure you'd snap the apex seal when really prying..which ultimatly would end in a new engine..are you sure the trans is out of gear when you are attempting to turn the engine by hand? are you sure the starter is working properly and is not fried? a bad starter solenoid will not kick out the bendix and thus will trick you into thinking that the starter is not turning the engine.
