Lumpy Power Steering

Hey guys!

My RX-8 lost a radiator and dumped coolant all over my engine bay. After the new radiator was installed, my dad started the car for the first time and told me that the power steering light came on. He then did something with it and the light came off and the power steering came back. When he gave the car back to me, I noticed that the steering wasn't smooth. He told me it was fine when he was driving to me. I cleaned all the power steering connections with contact cleaner and applied dielectric grease, and the problem still persists. It isn't the end of the world, but its kind of annoying in city traffic.

Any help guys?

Sometimes I occasionally get the "lumpy" actuation of the power steering when I first turn the car on in the morning and turn out of the driveway. Feels like all of a sudden the tires are about to jump off the rims or something, but I'm pretty sure it's something to do with the steerings system. No idea what this could be indicating, but generally once I've driven down the street, I don't feel this again until the next morning.
