Loss of Performance below 4500 RPM???
I recently had my first experience with flooding. After taking care of that and changing the spark plugs I've noticed a dramatic loss of acceleration power except above 4500 RPM. My '06 RX8 only has 37,000 on it. Any suggestion on how to get it revved up again would be greatly appreciated.

Info appreciated
Thanks for the info. It appears the concensus is I need to change my ignition coils and plug wires. I don't know about the cat being dead? The last time I fed her, she was still alive.

With things consistantly happening at 4500 RPMs Im with Zoom saying you have a problem somewhere in your intake system. With the VFAD opening completely at 5500 RPMs I would look for a leak somewhere along the lines there.

zoom was saying no air out no air in as in cat issues. id say cat as well usually a flooded car usually lose its car after wards but i cant see it being better at higher rpms.
dirty plugs just pull them and do a quick clean and see if that helps. plus its free for you to check the plugs

the heat/pressure gets to be enough at higher rpm to overcome the problem. seen it here with a members car. Several of us all drove it independantly and came to the same conclusion. when he got a tech to open the cat, literally the ceramics poured out in pieces.
