I have a 2004 Japanese Import, Automatic Rx8.

I am having a problem with my heating, and finally got around to trying to fix it.

I have read all the posts relating how to solder the board, and thought I would give it a go, I followed all the steps, but when finally reaching the circuit board, it looked totally different to the example that had been posted on the forum. Anyway, I believe I located the 3 points that need re-soldering, and they looked fine, no cracks or gaps, but formed in little peaks and didn't look like they needed any attention. Therefore didn't add any solder.

My additional problem is the power button / volume control doesn't work either, it adjusts the volume but doesn't allow me to turn off or on and therefore I cannot do the test of trying to move the dial up from 0-16. After driving for a few minutes and the car has heated up, the station channels stop working and so do the mute and volume controls on the steering wheel. I'm sure all of this is connected to the heating but not sure where to go from here?

Any ideas would be most appreciated.
