Question Flooding issue (mostly) resolved?

I did a search, and from most posts I read it sounds like the lastest M flash has pretty much resolved the flooding issue.

Is this truly the case?!

The first thing I noticed was the Sticky was gone - good sign I'm hoping to swing an 8 purchase in 6-8 months (depends on when I finalize the sale of my 7), but my previous visits here always freaked me out with all the flooding complaints

I've driven an 8 (loved it), love the looks, want a new car, but I have to admit after dealing with my 3rd gen RX-7 I'm wanting a car that I don't have to worry "will it start this time?" every time I get in :D

Thanks guys!

I have the M flash (i.e., the current firmware version) and have never had a flood. Been driving it for over a year and about 13,000 miles. (Boy am I tired.) Sometimes I start it up, back it out to wash it, and shut it right off again. I'm still waiting for someone who has had the M flash to report a flood. I guess maybe it's happened to someone, somewhere, but I have yet to hear of it. You might try searching for flood or flooding and M flash in the same message.

We supposedly had the M flash when the car flooded. We were gone on vacation for over a week. My wife started up the car and the TPS was on so she shut it off. She inflated the tire with the compressor and the car wouldn't start again. It would crank, but not start.
However, although the dealer told me it had the M flash, it didn't get the stickers until after it went to the dealer for the flood.

Thanks! If you can back it out and shut if off, I'm impressed. My old 88 RX-7 had to run for about 10 minutes before I could shut it off

Anyone else? Searching brings up a lot of results, but mostly older threads (again, hopefully a good sign).
