Need Electrical Guru help

Gents

Any help or insight would be appreciated. My 8 is an 2004 6sp completely stock...with about 64k miles on it. I only drive it about 10 to 15 miles a day during the week.

so driving to work this morning i noticed that the a/c radio, dash lights get cycling on an off intermittently. i make a mental note and park the car. Once i have it in the spot i try to use the key fob to look it up and not luck...try a few more times and give up. Do a manual lock and go to work.

So when i'm leaving work i try to start her up and boom no juice...i have lights radio, a/c but just clicking like its battery is dead...pull the interior fuse panel and everything looks ok. go get the parking attendant to get ajump box...when i pull the cover and the battery cover and the positive terminal had a large amount of corrosion...i use the jump box and get it started...get home and it starts to do the same thing just as i'm pulling in.....get her in shut her off...clean terminals check all fuses and again she won't start. Just a lot of clicking....also all the lights go out when i turn the ignition key.

Any ideas...my local dealers suck royal (i'm in the washington DC) and they will just stick it to me if i don't have any idea?

Thanks
IJB

sounds like you already have a good idea what it is... the battery. Buy a new one and all your problems will go away.

Make sure the connections to the battery are secured.
Maybe even check the wires going to the fuse panel in the engine bay too.

you can't jump start a dead battery. In fact when its completely dead like it is and you jump it.............. it usually harms the Alternator and blows diodes.

^ but he stated that battery isn't dead, it's showing 12.8 volts which is spot on.

I second the terminal connecters. Even though you cleaned them I say replace them with fresh ones (especially the negative ground which is likely the bottle neck.) I have the same thing happen on another car and replaced the terminals for $20. It fired right up afterwards and saved me a lot of time and money.
