Hey everyone. Haven't been on this forum a long time. Sold my 04 WB 6SPD GT a couple years back now and have moved on to other toys.

Anyways, I'm posting this for a friend. I searched all over the forum but couldn't seem to find anything concrete. My friend has a AT RX8 with the 4 port engine. He doesn't drive it a ton and recently noticed blue smoke and a power loss. He took it to the stealership and they're telling him he needs a new intake manifold because there's oil in the intake...

Now I know oil in the intake is common, but I've never heard of this supposedly common issue with the intake manifolds (according to the dealer) that means it needs to be replaced.

I told him to run the **** out of it. Not sure the power loss and blue smoke issue is related. I think he has around 75K on the car. Please let me know if this is something that anyone has heard of before.

You've done your friend well.....
I would say get a compression test .... oil in the intake come from the crank case vent and a little bit of oil in the intake doesn't necessarily mean anything is wrong.

Now blue smoke on the other hand .... not soooo good.

Seafoam might work.
