Acceleration issue

It's been about 2 months now with my 04 rx8 mt with 46k miles stock. Just this week i noticed when im accelerating hard from first to second gear around 8k rpm's my car seems to choke, then proceeds after that it still seems to struggle getting up to high rpm's.... It's really noticeable so I'm pretty worried it could be something bad...Any ideas?

well it is hard to explain it.... it stops accelerating for a split second when it hits about 8k rpm's. but then resumes.

plugs/coils/wires/air filter

don't start worrying until you've checked all those first.

If the coils and spark plugs have not been changed yet i would start there. I would change the ignition coils, spark plugs, and spark plug wires. Dont worry anyway The cat converter is covered for 8yr 80k miles and the engine is cover for 8yr 100k miles

Depending on your budget i recommend BHR Ignition Kit http://blackhaloracing.com/products-...tion-system15/ $557 w/spark plugs. The oem coils have been know to fail

Sounds like your cat is going.
Are you getting a blinking CEL while accelerating or in 6th under full load? If you then you got a misfire --- plugs/coils/could do the wires to

How hard are you running the car when happens?
It could be the begin of a CAT failure or clutch slippage from heat generated while running hard

im also having another problem with my 8..... about 5 months ago blew the internal gaskets got them replaced along with the externals shop installed motor n cranked it up but then the idle started to bog up n down n then itll shut off i have to keep the idle up wen ever i come to a stop otherwise the car will bog and shut off, and i am ******* tired of having to do that cus its wasting alot of gas having to keep the idle up..... the shop ran a vacum test passed then a injector test passed too then scaned it said plugs changed em out still did the same thing changed the air filter out n fixed it for about a day n half but then started doing it again looked everywhere on the web about the problem friend said egr valve but dont have one on the 8, another friend said it could b the fuel filter so i bought the whole pump assembly so hopefully its that, web also said it could b the baro pressure sensor but idk gotta wait till the pump is in do yo9u guys have any input on wat the problem could be
