Smile ODB scanner tool question plz

Hi all

I have searched this forum and the web and been unable to find a definite answer on the OBD unit I am considering purchasing. I was wondering if anyone on here has one and if it works with their RX8?

I am looking at the Xtool IOBD2 unit. It says it supports the following protocols. It works with iphone.

1. ISO15765-4 (CAN)
2. ISO14230-4 (KWP2000)
3. ISO9141-2
4.J1850 VPW
5.J1850 PWM

My Rx8 is a series 1 built in July 2005. It has the OBD plug under the steering wheel, but before I shell out nearly $100 I wanted to know if it works with our car? Is it the CAN protocol the RX8 supports?

Any help much appreciated on this one. There are some for sale on ebay for $60 but not sure if they are original.

Any feedback appreciated.

Cheers
