Hey man im a new member also and i know how it sucks when you dont know what to do and no one helps...to the point now... I dont know where it is located but even if your service is out...i would check to see if that might of been a recall on your car...ive read a few site where it stated that many 8z have had a recall and that the neutral switch was one of the possible parts to go bad..ill try to find them site again and let you know...good luck

they have been failing... mine is done.. you have to modify a socket or have the right sized crows foot to remove it... think it is on the drivers side of the tranny...

not easy to get to..

To drag up an old thread...

I'm changing mine out today.

It's on the driver's side of the transmission.

To expand on what swoope said, to modify a socket to work, you'll need a 1-1/16" deep wall socket (either a 26mm or 27mm should fit as well, but the 1-1/6" is just perfect for the replacement one I have; check yours to be sure, 'cause there ought to be a metric size that's technically the "right" one. Cut out the side of it similiar to an injection socket so that the wire harness & connectors can come out the side. There's not a whole lot of space in there, so a wrench isn't gonna' cut it, most likely.

Make your socket look like this:
