ON A/C malfunctioning

My AC system started acting up end of last year. What happens is I get only hot air blowing while in AC mode and it's really hot.
I have tried using recycled and outside air setting but that doesn't make a difference.
Today however it kicked in and blew ice cold. So it would appear that it's not a coolant or compressor problem.
Any one have thoughts or similar experience.
Thanks much for any ideas

Possibly the circuit board is getting a bad connection.
Turn your radio on, press & hold the on button, then press the seek arrow up at the same time, the temp control will display. Turn temp ****, 0 thru 16 should be displayed, 0 being cold, 16 hot.
If it doesn't transition smoothly the board connections likely need to be resoldered.

I got to the controller window but the temp ctrl **** doesn't effect the indicater which is stuck on 16 HOT.
Would this still be the circuit board or the temp **** on the dash? Also is that circuit
board easy to get at if I need to replace or resolder it? Maybe all the parts just need a good cleaning.

It's a common problem for the resoldering .
Radio has to come out, there's a DIY somewhere in the DIY section.
I need to do mine, but I can still get it to work by messing with it. I'll wait t'il it no longer works.
Good luck!

Yep. Fiddling with it worked for me for four years. Here is the DIY: No Heat? Repair the Heater Control
