jenson jport, ipod, and cd changer adapter

First post for me. Just got my RX-8 and I love it! It's a 2004 black GT with (radio firmware 9.55).

Anyway, I was just at target and picked up a jenson jport (http://mobile.jensen.com/jensen/Jens...ODUCT_ID=JPORT) for 15 bucks. Apparently it can do everything I would like it to do but the it seems my HU has an odd cd changer port, not a normal 8 pin cd changer.

Is there some adapter to go from the standard round 8 pin to the mazda or would that not even work?

Thanks for your help! I've been browsing the forum non stop for the past two weeks and it seems like a great source of information.

i really don't think that anything else not specifically designed for the RX8 could work, but i have what here is called ipod adapter that hooks up to the CD changer port on the back of the headunit and your IPOD is recognized by the HU as a CD changer. and you can control your ipod from the steering wheel/headunit buttons without the need to reach/mess with your IPOD.

BTW, I was thinking of selling mine if you are interested let me know. Mine is an '04 as well in silver

Yea...looks like you didn't do your homework before you bought. From trying to decipher the stupid Jensen adds all over the internet this is an iPod adapter for Jensen radios. The 8-pin round din connection was never a standard for all car radios and is actually only used by a few companies. Good try though...

Yah I definitely didn't hah. It was on sale for 15 bucks and I have to go back there anyway so I figured I'd take a shot in the dark at a wild find
