OEM Nav Value

Just curious, what can the entire 2004 oem navigation system be sold for nowadays? I've seen sale threads for portions but I haven't seen anyone selling the whole thing lately. Last references I read were around a thousand.

This thread might be a help https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-do-yourself-forum-73/diy-whole-navigation-system-59957/
You need to find someone else willing to do all the work mentioned in that thread. But at least you will know the parts you need to remove.

Ah yes, that scary thread.

If I were to remove everything except for the nav wiring harness that requires you to take everything apart, would that cause any electrical issues/glitches?

Bumpy.

Essentially, would there be any harm in removing the nav screen, assembly, center console, and dvd unit and worrying about the wiring harness later?

it's like 3k in parts. So used I suspect 1-2k would be possible. The problem is the install is not worth the time and effort. The OEM nav simply isn't good enough to justify it.

The oem screen is however, useful and desirable by itself. At least the housing and motor stuff is... But whatever you get from the sale of these items isn't really worth it IMO.

I haven't really decided yet, but I don't generally use the nav, and don't want to pay ~$225 to update the maps & firmware. Would like to use the money to buy the 05 Shinka interior though.

I'll have to decide if I want to go through all the mess of removing things, but could I remove the highly demanded parts and then leave the nav harness installed until I have time and a buyer for it?
