Ground loop isolator for Aux Mod Basic
Hey folks, finally got my Aux Mod Basic (sylfex.com) installed at a BestBuy. The unit works great! The volume is fantastic! There is however significant hum when my ipod is charging. Not a huge problem since the ipod battery lasts so long, but I still want to be able to charge it with no hum. Instead of buying a clunky radio shack GLI that uses RCA phono plugs you can get a great GLI here:

I haven't gotten it yet, but I have one in my motorcycle and it works very well and you don't need to use any RCA to mini-stereo adaptors. Thanks Eric for making the Aux Mod! It really did the trick.
Incidentally the sound (without the charger) is really fantastic!

Got the GLI from electircla connection and it knocked out the hum completely, great product. I understand that these devices allgededly affect the audio (frequency range?) but I couldn't notice a difference with it hooked up...

Yeah i think its the exact same one only Electrical Connection slaps their label on it and charges 12 bucks more! The specs on the unit are very good and it provides some slight gain to compensate for more circuitry in the line and reportedly has a very good frequency response. Everyone on the Crutchfield site rated it very highly as do I.
