Actually I'm doing the same thing--however my amps are mounted in the depression in the bottom of the trunk--and I'm going with an 8in sub.

it sounds pretty good - I screwed up some of the wires originally, but once I figured that out, no problems - I personally don't need anything too loud, but this can pound if I want it too!!

Can i ask, what is the cubic feet on the inside of youre box for that sub? would a box like that be able to be made for a JL 10W7? (1.25 cuft.) That is very space conserving and i need space in the trunk.

Are you by chance using a 2-ohm amp or i should say do you have to? Im also wondering if you get a clean signal off the bose system using the LOC. The bose system runs on funny voltages and uses a 2-ohm load.

let me know
thanks

hi - unfortunately, I don't think its any more than.6 cubic feet - if that - if you know how to fibreglass a box, you can get more area by making the back sides of the box a perfect fit - but I still doubt it would be 1.25 - maby if you encloes the amp rack, it would increase the size aswell!!

you know what...there is no DIY or specific information on this...guess it is something you just 'know' I've been told...well I have no clue so I'm with you in that help is needed: )

I need it for the Bose system...it would be nice for the non-bose owners too

thanks

hey - the way I hooked up the RCA cables was to splice into the rear speakers and get myself a high to low level converter - they are availble at any car audio shop and electronics shop. I paid $50 for mine beacause this is the place where I hear all the problems can happen(cutting out, etc), so I decided to pay more for it. The converter has RCA outputs which you just attach to your amp, or crossover, then you are pretty much ready to go.
Gound the amp somewhere in the trunck, run a power cable from the battery, and use the power adapter from the centre console as your remote wire - then you are set to go!!

have fun!!

I have a box i used in my saab, i'll see if it fits .. its 2 infinity perfect kappa 10.1s and a jbl 600W amp.. i will splice into the 6x9s and run a line into the speaker level inputs.. my Q is.. where id u splice into? do the 6x9s in the rear shelf (BOSE system) get all of the lows, or are they filtered out?

Hey - I don't think that the rear 6*9s are filtered, but I have no idea. That is where I spliced the signal from - if you have a high level input on your amp, you might as well try and use it, it should work out!!

post some pics!!

I may considerchanging my setup to somethinglike that b/c right now I have no spacein my trunk at all. Also I bet that single JL 10" sub probably hits harderthan my two Kenwood 12s do.

Heres a 1 year old pic (again for thoseof you who have probably seen it before) of the completely impractical butloud system in my car -- and yes my trunk still looks like this right now -- that is pretty much stuck in my trunk
