What coil packs will fit from other cars?

What coil packs will fit from other cars?
I cant find much info on this people just seam to get the BHR coil set but what other ones will fit from other cars? I have some bmw bremi coils here with a 3 pin connection. What have other people tried? whats the best result?
People that have used other coils seam to say there car starts faster... Sounds good to me!

A) This is the DIY forum, where you post HOW TO DO something, not general questions about car info.
B) The BHR coils (or other coil kits) don't "work better" because they are "from another car". Coils have many dynamic metrics to them, such as dwell, voltage, etc... What you are asking is basically: "Of all of the wrenches out there, which ones fit this 10mm bolt?"
Only the coils for the RX-8 actually "fit" the RX-8. Everything else is a adaptation, and even then, coil selection is not "wide open", but very strict parameters that have to be met.
Try doing some reading on the BHR coil kit development. Whether or not you agree with them (someone will jump in mentioning cool-aid), Ray did LOTS of development over finding the right coils, and you can gain some insights as to why this is a bigger project than you think it is.

I mean what have people found to be a good substitute rx8 parts are expensive for what they are and if there was a coil pack with a bit more power at a better price why not use that? Is there another coil that will plug straight into the standard plug?

You are still thinking about it wrong.
Check out RX7Club.com. Learn about their coils. The FC (I think it was the FC) had coils that lasted 200,000 miles. But they were like $800 (USD) a piece instead of $34 (USD). Mazda SPECIFICALLY went with cheaper coils, presumably to reduce consumer complaints about the cost of the coils. The lower cost of the coils means that they don't last as long, and aren't as robust.
So actually, you get quite a bit for how cheap they are. Upgrading will mean more money. Period.
Not many coils out there are designed to fire 300 times per second, and those that can, won't last that long. They have to be seriously robust. You simply aren't going to get that cheap, which appears to be the goal of the thread if you think that the OEM coils are expensive. They aren't. They are cheap.

There is one further option. Go ahead and do the research, figure out for yourself what 'other' coils will work on the RX-8, buy them, install them, and report back upon success. There are some here, like yourself perhaps that will be patiently waiting.
Or buy the OEM packs or BHR's. Then you'll have at least three choices!

I believe the BHR coils do perform a lot better and last a bit longer. They also need a kit to sit on so they fit i believe. Anyways. Good luck.
