RX8inSTL's RX-8 Round 2
#78
Update time. They say a picture speaks a thousand words so it might be best just to look them over to see whats new but ill also list it all here. Almost a month ago now I went to Deals Gap Rotary Rally and the car performed very well throughout the 2,000 miles it was driven. I was able to get my CAI finished on the car, I have not noticed and idle difference although fuel trim fluctuate slightly more. I did install a honeycomb mesh screen and would like to experiment with removing that as well but haven't done so yet. Under the hood I also finished my rotor shaped A/W tank. It holds double the fluid but being aluminium it does heat soak more I believe, those temps are usually around 90 degrees F. Lastly under the hood I upgraded the pullies to a set from Ryan Rotary Performance, they are now 6 rib so I have no slippage. The crank pulley is now one piece as well. I have been happy with the pulley set. Craftsquare mirrors and RE hood duct garnes are about it for the exterior other than the new rear diffuser. This was a homemade project so no real testing has been done. I did drive those 2,000 miles with it and have had no ill effects. It is made from 1/8 5050 aluminium and it sits at 10 degrees from the ground at it steepest point. The front edge is at about 2 degrees. It is mounted to the rear sway bar mounts as well as the new rear crash bar. Comments or criticism welcome.
Onto the pictues.

Man I still can't get over how sexy that car is. You really killed it with the rear diffuser...
I need a ride next year at DGRR! I hate that I didn't ask for one while we were there - I've still yet to ride in a boosted 8 of any kind.

Car looks absolutely stunning, somehow aggressive but at the same time understated and classy. All the lines just run together the right way and everything just fits. Engine bay is amazingly clean as well.

Im happy to see that you think it looks good. It was a bit of work and I think its much better than the MS "diffuser". The main portion sits right at a 10 degree angle from the ground. Mounts to the sway bar mounts and custom rear crash bar.
