What Kind of Clutch are you geared with???

Hello Fellow Rotary Heads... I'm due for a new clutch and was just curious what type of clutch is everyone using??? This will be my 3rd clutch at 100k. My previous one was Exedy Stage 1 kit. So what are u guys shifting on???

Ok, I kno that it's early but the reason for it is that my car ended up with low compression and the dealership offered to put a new one in free of labor for me so I thought y not (they are hooking me up with a new block). Also to add. The jerks at Fast Freddy's Rotor specialist didn't resurface my flywheel for me like they said they would so it runs kind of rough. Point if it's free labor so i though why not?

Wow that is a lot of clutch usage... I know most people suggest just going with the stock clutch unless you have some type of major mods(turbo). I know the stock clutch is exedy, so probably just got with that.

These threads always make me worried that my clutch is about to die. My last car still had the stock clutch at 110k miles when I sold it, but I didn't drive it quite as hard as I do the rx8.

I'm at 127,000 miles and I just put a new clutch in and that was only because I was putting a new motor in so I figured I might as well do it while it was out of the car. Oh and I went with a stock replacement clutch.

I was about to edit my post to say I wasn't to sure if most people with turbos go with stock or not, but you beat me back here.

Did your stock clutch see a lot of boost, or only towards the end of its life? Also how much fun did you have with it, I am guessing lots so I probably shouldn't be too worried about mine.

My first stock clutch did not see boost but it did see nitrous and honestly it still had lots of life left in it. We will see how this Store brand unit does, but if it blows it has a lifetime warranty.

It is my belief that the street driven guys who blow clutches and trannies early are mostly due to driver error. I won't name any names but I rode with one member once who was constantly having tranny issues and blew h__ clutch after 30k or so and after five minutes in the car it was clear why.

I just replaced mine at 78k I believe it was the original. I went with a kit from bhr and bought a new flywheel. The one on there shouldn't be resurfaced there was a specific reason for this that I can't recall off the top of my head. Had a local shop put it in. Pulls like a champ now.
