Programming garage door opener without original remote?
I just bought a new place and the garage door doesn't have a separate handheld opener.
So I've wiped the existing memory on the garage door itself (in case the previous owners decide to swing by and open my garage).
Is there any way I can program the homelink/garage door opener on the rx8 without it?

Nope, don't think so..............but you could buy a generic garage door opener(handheld) that will work with your model/make of door.............not too much money and any Lowe's, Wally-Mart, Home Depot, etc. would have them. Make sure it supports you make and model of opener!
Once you get that programmed and working, then you could program the homelink.
