31 Vehicles Recovered from Canal - Including an RX8!
Check out this article. It states that 31 vehicles were recovered from a canal in Ft. Lauderdale. The pics on the right clearly show someone dumped their Silver Rx8.
I know the mpg's aren't great but come on, there are other ways out!!

31 vehicles recovered from West Broward Canal

The Broward Sheriff's Office working with agents from the National Insurance Crime Bureau recovered 31 vehicles Wednesday from a canal in western Broward County.
Here is what authorities said about the recovery of the vehicles along Griffin Road between U.S. 27 and Bonaventure Boulevard:
Of the 31 vehicles, BSO has confirmed that 27 of them had been reported stolen. The remaining four are in the process of being traced. Fourteen of the 27 stolen cars were found with the keys in the ignition. None of the recovered vehicles have thus far been found to be connected with any other crimes.
Among the vehicles recovered were a 1964 Ford Thunderbird, a 1968 Corvette Stingray, a 1977 Triumph, a 1977 Cadillac along with several newer model cars, trucks and SUV's.
The Broward Sheriff's Office is working closely with the National Insurance Crime Bureau to determine how many of the recovered cars may have been dumped as part of a scheme to defraud an insurance company. Many of the cars recovered from canals generally turn out to be abandoned by owners who report them stolen to avoid future car payments.
The operation is part of BSO's on-going efforts to recover vehicles from county canals.

Why would you dump your car to avoid payments? Even if you are upside down they will only give you fair market value and you will still owe that money. And gap coverage doesn't apply to a stolen vehicle in all cases and even if it does they give ther own fair market value and will not always pay the whole difference if you are upside down. People need to actually read there policies.

There has got to be this one little rotten dude that you give your keys to and he promises to lose the car for you - the only other explaination is this car rally that went really really bad!

I have a customer (young girl) who had her CTS stolen in November, and the insurance company is still investigating. This kind of fraud effects us all.

Well, I guess the owner isn't a member here. If he/she was, he/she would be on here telling us how the cops just found it, and blah, blah-blah, blah-blah-blah...
