Just an FYI to anyone going this year..

http://www.tailofthedragon.com/dragon_trucks.html

At least one of these happened only a week or so after last year's meet, if the picture dates are to be believe. Why are truckers so god-awfully stubborn?

whoa!!

Those trucks have no business driving on that road, that's far too dangerous for other drivers.

swift used to run a route between two cities up there that would route their trucks over that road every time. unless the driver knew the area well enough, he'd end up on there just by following the directions

also, it appears that THP is cracking down on speeding/reckless driving this year. In the past, they've always looked the other way for the most part. but check killboy's site, theyre actually standing in the middle of the road with a radar gun

after having actually been there... that is suicide. And for the record, none of us got tickets last year.

This is a very concerning danger for everyone on that road. And believe me I had a VERY close call with a a truck last year....with video to prove it. Luckily most of the bikers will stop and start flagging people to stop when this happens.

they had to launch this house boat at the fontana dam and didnt have an easy way to get there beside going thru the gap. atleast they planned it and had everyone warned .

most of the truckers do not know any better.deals gap shows up on the directions to where they have to go and by the time they realize what they're getting into they cant turn around.
