Unhappy Wtf is going on??? (Clutch Assembly Replacement - Car Won't Start)

I'm a new owner of an 05 rx8 with 108k I bought it with 98k. With that being said,
the clutch pedal assembly welds broke where it mounts to the firewall. So I bought the new assembly which was 160. After I replaced it with the new one plugged the two plugs in..... Well..... It won't start! Wtf? Is there a reset I have to do for example disconnect the battery or something? I am stumped and don't want to take it to Mazda and be charged 125 bucks for a hour that takes 5 seconds to cure the issue! I'm sure it's simple and maybe I'm just retarded lmao!

I assume that the problem is that you turn the key and literally nothing happens?

If this is the case, then the problem is with the clutch interlock switch. It is the plunger-type switch with the connector that is on the BOTTOM of the clutch assembly. As in, the one that gets it's plunger pushed in when you have the clutch pushed in the whole way.

A few different specific possibilities:
- The interlock switch plunger needs to be reset correctly (https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-tro...switch-190708/)
- The connectors may be plugged into the wrong switches (i forget if they are interchangeable or not)
- If you transfered the switches from the old assembly to the new, did you swap their positions accidentally?

Exactly! Push in the clutch pedal and it just won't turn over. And I am pretty sure the plugs are not interchangeable and there are specific spots for the two so I am almost 100 % positive that's not the case. I haven't messed with it today but I will double check and make sure the plugs are plugged in correctly which they have a metal clip which holds it in place. I'm wondering if I can disconnect the battery and "reset" it? Has anyone had this issue before?

If the connectors are connected correctly, and the switches are in the right spot, then the problem is that the plunger needs it's position reset. It is a physical position reset, not an electronic one. Read the link in my last post for how to do it. Yes, it has happened a fair amount, this isn't an unusual problem, and it's an easy fix.

I just read a post from the link you put up and they said "remove the switch and pull the plunger really hard until it clicks in place and that should fix it" they also stated it probably happened from removal or installation process.

Yup. It's what usually happens.
