Clutch pedal stuck to floor

So had my clutch pedal bracket break and replaced it with a reinforced one. Everything felt fine resistance wise until I attempted to start the car with the new pedal, when the engine attempted to start and then made a whine and I cut it off. The pedal was now completely stuck to the floor. I can lift it up manually but then as soon as I push it down its stays there again. It's fitted into the cylinder correctly. Does this mean I need to replace the master and/or slave cylinder? Any other suggestions would be welcome.

I am not a mechanic so I don't have a clue. I can tell you I had the same problem with mine, took it to a tranny shop, cost me close to $2k to fix it.

Check and see if any fluid is leaking inside the car where the clutch bolts up. When I replaced my clutch pedal bracket, I broke the plastic piece inside the master cylinder and had to replace the master.

Thanks for the suggestions. It looks like my slave cylinder is toast... And on top of that my transmission is making a lot of noise. What fun. Probably going to let a mechanic deal with this one this time around.
