Brooklyn NY RX shops?
The shop I go to for big annoying jobs on my other car, told me he won't even touch the RX. Not even to swap in an engine. I would swap it in myself but I am not blessed with a garage. Any recommendations? I want to buy this car, and I know I will need an engine soon, but don't have anyone to put it in. Thanks.

Edit: just curious why you said he'd be happy to do it? He said he doesn't work on these cars at all.

I spoke to him today he doesnt know who was calling. And he didnt know i left his info. And he cannot quote you a price of how much to do it. He would have to take a look at your car. And i would buy the new engine from mazda. Palasades mazda is located a min from his shop and will drop off the short block to him. Let him look at the car than he can have a better idea.

Really? That's interesting because he didn't want anything to do with the car. I asked him the reason, and he said "he doesn't want to be married to me" and that these cars are a pain and problematic. He just doesn't want to be bothered with it. I tried for literally 5 minutes to get him to take the job, and he was not interested at all. I said he was recommended to me by someone. What he is saying to you now is totally different than what he told me.. it's sord of a shame because he was literally 12 minutes away from the sellers house. Super coincidence. I thought the stars were aligning perfectly but I was wrong. I ended up going with IR performance. I said I'd bring them a new engine, but they suggested to go for one of their motors. Quoted me 6-8k for the job.. told me the new Mazda engine would be a waste of money. What do you think? Will a stage 1 reman from them be just as reliable as a mazda or I should reconsider? I'm having the seller drop it off tomorrow morning at irp. Thanks

Listen like i said ed gets alot of people asking how much the job is gonna be. And its really not fair to you or him to quote you a price for a job when he has never even seen you cars condition. Ed has worked on 1st gen rx7 2nd gen rx7 and many Rx8s. He is just an honest person he cannot quote you how much something will be over the phone. Many shops in the area ask him what he is charging. I personally have bought the mazda remans and i have bought from rotary resurrection. I have not had problems with either. It all depends what you want. For 6 to 8k i hope you are getting what you want. Personally thats not what i would do.
