Know a good detailer?

I want to get my car detailed, exterior only, in early to mid August. Anybody know someone good in the Philly/South Jersey area? I found a guy in Pennsauken who charges $160 but I'd rather go with someone that an 8 owner can recommend. Thanks!

$160 is dirt cheap for a quality detail, however I suspect there is no real paint correction going on. Possibly single stage polishing.

You can't go wrong with an Autopia recognized detailer.

I've had mine done by Oakes out in West Chester. home - - oakesdetail.com

Thanks for the info. I had to laugh when I read about the warm water rinse considering I just got back from two weeks in Costa Rica where I didn't have any warm water to rinse in! lol

I'll give these guys a call, thanks again.

I would check the site groupon, I got a 3 hour full detail inside and out for 75$, normally a 200$ service. They almost always have a detail package on there. Mine is for Elite Auto Detailing in Warrington. Ill repost my experience when I get it done in a few weeks.

I know someone on Rx7club that is also a trusted member of autopia. He's in LI. Seeing that they're not willing to drive to North Jersey, I doubt you'll drive to LI. With that said, go search on Autopia for someone in your "driving range".

I'm going to AutObssessions in Pennsauken. Nick has been super accommodating, and they just got Best of South Jersey in Philly magazine. And well within my "driving range." lol

Varsity Auto Detailing.

They did my buddies car. It's been on stance and he won some royal purple top 10 thing. It's where I plan to take one of my cars.

Talking update

I was just skimming through old posts and saw this. I did get that detail back then at Autobsessions, and it was awful, a total waste of money. It was done in about an hour and ten minutes, and the wheels were still dirty and no little "extras" were done. When I asked if he could touch up the black on the wiper arms or the buttons on the back windows it was, "No, but if you come back another time, we can do it then." When I asked if he could put on my new wiper blades for me, it was "No, I really have to run." Etc., etc. VERY disappointing!

Now that I've moved to Bucks County, I'm finding new people and places. In preparation for the Doylestown at Dusk auto show last week, I took my car to Buckingham Auto Detailing and, oh my god, it was top-of-the-line, gold-star treatment the whole way! Bruce cleaned my foggy headlamp (the other one is nice and new from the last accident ), he painted the engine compartment covers, the wiper arms, the window buttons, and the inside of the wheel wells, for pete's sake! The interior was cleaner than when the dealer delivered the car to me five years ago. AND to top it off, he gave me a ride to work and had everything done on time. I went to the car show and lost count of all the compliments I had. People were posing with my car and having pictures taken like it was a celebrity! lol

Bruce is my new "favorite uncle" to my baby. No, I didn't pay $160, but I got every nickel's worth that I did pay!

Hi Beth! How.ve you been? Just saw this post. My son-in-law manages a detail/audio place down in Pleasantville (One Stop). If you're ever at the Shore & need detailing send me a message. I would hope they'd do as nice a job as you got.
Hope you've been well. Still have my 8 but I havent hit 100K yet. Dont see too many here in Glo County but I do still get waves when I do. Take care, Guy

Hey, Guy! Glad to hear you're still running your 8. Now that I moved and can walk to work, mine will be resting a lot more instead of racking up tons and tons of miles every month. I see a lot more 8s up here than I ever did in Jersey, which is another reason to like it here. Hopefully someday we'll get the old crowd together at a car show somewhere. Take care
