If you were presented with an offer to trade your 2004 rx8 for a slightly used 2003 G35 coupe, would you trade?
Now i know about the flame fest with the RX8 or 350z thread.. although this might seem similar.. i really wouldn't think so. The G35 coupe as we all know is also a 4 seater, and as powerful - if not more, than the 350z.. and IS more stylish than the 350z..i believe it has "best of both worlds" -- style and power.. but just more $$$$...
Now, don't get me wrong... I LOVE MY 8!!! I always stand behind it even though my friends all gawk at 350z's, Evo's and STi's.. I just want to get all your HONEST opinions.

I refuse to buy or own or drive a Beemer, I will not conform to society's pop contests and status bull crap! I prefer to be unique and a trend setter. That's why I bought the RX-8!

Of course everyone is going to say "no" on this board.
The G35 is a much better car then the RX-8. Plain and simple.
280HP compared to 190HP...mmmmmm
One more trolling comment out of you and you are banned. You've been warned several times now, and you can't even give me a good reason for your behavior.
No
Reasons
1)Exterior Looks-Pretty obvious
2)Interior- The 8's blows away the g
3)Performance-Espeacially handling
4)Uniqueness
5)What else do you need?

1 & 2)opinion totally subjective
3) Handling, slight edge to the 8; speed slight edge to the G
4)I think it depends on your area.
5) how about a ferrari

Go to a local Infiniti dealership, try to convince them to let you have an extensive test drive in a G35C. After you drive both cars thoroughly. you'll have a better idea which one suits you better. My honest opinion is that the G35C is a faster car and easier to drive fast. The RX-8 is a more aggressive looking car with a high-revving engine that makes driving more fun. Price wise, the Infiniti holds value a lot better than the 8.
The biggest advantages of the G35C is power, Infiniti quality and service.
The biggest advantages of the RX-8 is unique styling and slightly better handling.

Infiniti quality? That is a funny statement. And don't even mention JD Powers.
The fact is the RX8 is superior to the G35 in design and technology and material quality. It's an overall superior design.
Whatever and however you perceive differently is the direct, successful outcome of Carlos Ghosn's master plan at Nissan: hit the simpleminded public where their hearts are (exterior, HP, low price, supple leather seats that wear extremely fast) and cut costs on EVERYTHING ELSE (interior, chassis, suspension, material quality). They don't call Ghosn "Le Cost Cutter" for nothing.
The G35 does have more power and torque while getting better mileage. Some will prefer the G35's looks, but to me the G35's looks (interior as well) will become/feel dated faster than the RX8's. The G35 sedan already seems it's 10 years outdated. The coupe looks stronger than the sedan, of course, but the nondescript grille and headlights will lose their welcome relatively quickly.

You are wrong plain and simple. I researched both cars and other cars extensively. I cut through the Carlos Ghosn veneer like white sticks on rice. When I did, I was not surprised, yet I knew many would never be able to do so.
You are merely one of the many. I'll try to make this as politically correct as possible. Let's just say I am an extremely detailed person in everything that I do, and you and others like you are not.

The exhaust sound is the best part about the car. It sounds like exotic cars. Ever heard of Ferrari exhaust note?

Sukairaine is very much on the money (although I think the RX-8 handling is more than slightly better and the rotary is a gem in itself and Mazda also has pretty good quality on latest cars). You need to test drive a G35C before you do anything else - it is effortless straight line speed but also less interesting and less practical. Also ask yourself why this person wants to get out of a G35 Coupe for an RX-8.
