Porsches version of our RX8
Porsches upcoming 4 door GT coupe looks a lot like our RX8
What do you guys think ??
Porsche: Four-door GT Coupé as the fourth series
The signs concretize themselves that 2008 a fourth model row of Porsche come. Planned is a Coupé with four moving in opposite directions opening doors. As motorizing eight and ten-cylinders are intended.
Porsche presses far powerfully on the gas 2008 is fourth series to the start to go, which are produced in the work Leipzig. A four-door GT Coupé concerns with front engine and rear-wheel drive. A all-wheel-driven version is to follow later. As power transmission switching and automatic transmissions with in each case six courses are intended. Special Gag: The doors open moving in opposite directions.
20,000 units annually - unit price starting from 220.000 euro
Pointed-confined of this, which is to be equipped with eight and ten-cylinder engines (340, 450 and 612 HP) from the Cayenne and the Carrera GT, Porsche wants to set the ambitionierte number of items off from 20.000 units per year. Purchase price: not under 220.000 euro.
Possibly Porsche for the realization of the project still another co-operation partner looks for itself - allegedly the GT counts itself in addition, in self-direction.
The new development possesses one about 4.90 meters long steel body also lightweight construction-added, which is not only to offer four persons place, but also a trunk volume of 450 litres.
cheers

Nice...but too pricy!!!
I really think more people would buy sports cars that were 2+2 (with actual room in the back) than 2 seaters especially with RX8 type doors.

I think it will probably do well for porsche. There isn't much competition in the uber sedan market. 760, S65, Quattroporte, Phantom, Arnage. I think Porsche could carve a nice little niche out if the car performs well.

I'm not a poor man, but I couldn't afford 220,000 Euro. My daughter drives a Boxster, and I could, too. But I wouldn't want it. Love my 8!!

I love the design (the red one). It has a little Alfa Romeo Brera flavor to it. I've always been a huge fan of Porsche (I almost got a '93 928 instead of my 8), so I always love seeing what's on their horizon. Now to devise a scheme to come up with a quarter mil.

Bear in mind that this is still at a rumour stage. The picture has been around for several years and as far as everyone knows it does not represent an actual car. Porsche has apparently not even decided if they want to do a fourth model, not to mention what it would be (recent Road&Track if I'm correct).
However, if this car were to make it into production, the price indicates it would fit into the Bentley GT class rather than 911 or an ordinary sports sedan - there is no way 220 K euro would translate into 50-75 K US, the price differential between Europe and US is not that big - for example Boxster in Germany is around 42 K euro which is roughly 54 K US. And US price is 44 K US. So using the same logic - probably 230 K US price if it ever makes it... It doesn't make sense for Porsche to dilute the brand by starting to compete with cars like BMW.
RX-8 is still nicer, and even new MX-5 will be a nice alternative to an older Boxster.
