Cayman S vs. Z4 Coupe?
Since there's been allot of discussion elsewhere, and if I were leaving my '8 (which I'm not) it would be a choice between these two, I just thought I'd post a poll. Both very nice.
The best one line comparison I've seen is that the Porsche is a better 'all around" performer, whereas the Bimmer is the more 'muscle car' of the pair. I would say the Z4 is also the better bang for the buck.

i'm biased against porsches, 'cuz i don't like 'em but it's more fair to compare the cayman s to the m coupe. the z4 coupe 3.0, however, is a better bargain. can you even access the cayman's engine?

The M coupe would be a better comparison. I would go with an M coupe if I were you...or just wait until the redesign is out with the TT inline 6 is out, it shouldn't be too long of a wait.

Momentum Keeps Me Going
The 2010 (or '09?) 320HP one Cayman S is argeably the perfect sports car. Not too big, not too heavy, not too expensive, yet powerful enough, just right...perfect balance... and virtually flawless handling. The changes made from the previous model are in many ways subtle, yet togehter they are substantial enough to improve it significantly.
The BMW? It's only my opinion, but it's an aging design in an awkward sneaker-shaped body, what BMW gracefully calls 'artful' I call old fashioned and outdated ... not to mention it has BMWs legendary reliability going for it.

The Cayman S hands down. Its mid engine, has a low and wide stance, doesn't look like a Porsche , lines from Italy. Handles on rails, very balance.
The Z4 coupe is attractive , one of the better designs from BMW, close to the Cayman S in overall packaging, yet its so far away. Great alternative to the S by any means.

Cayman vs. Z4 3.0-----------I take the Z4 without a doubt.
Cayman S vs. Z4 M-----------As much as i love this particular Bimmer, the new changes to the Cayman S just may be enough to sway me, its a pretty sick package inside and out.

Cayman S will be superior to a regular Z4. The M Z4 with more hp will outgun the Cayman, but the Porsche telepathic handling is unmatched. But the M is such a hooligan of a car that its actually fun too. Hmm...

3.2 Liter Inline Sex
Thanks man.
Not hard to believe...although I am still trying to figure out how BMW weighs their cars. Mine is supposed to weigh in at 3230lbs. but when weighed by an independent here locally with 3/4 tank of gas it was at 3073lbs. Go figure.

A Porsche could never be misconstrued to be a 350Z. But I do get your point. There are only just so many aerodynamic automotive shapes and therefore there is a very slight similarity.
Of course I make senses what are you speaking?!
