Cheapest way to ship an item from US to Can?

I bought clear corner from rotary extreme, arrived on time. Price is ok. But because they used UPS shipping (dont really know exactly wat type of shipping) therefore i had to pay $43 for import charge. End up getting clear corner for nearly $150...lol that sound like double the actual price. I didnt mean to blame Rotary Extreme but just want to let others know and find out wat is the cheapest way for shipping. My friend suggest i should as RE ship it like a gift so it wont be charged for tax or tariff. Is that right? Anyway, still good product but take me around 2 hours to install... damn. Any idea??? :o

The cheapest way appears to be USPS(post office). You could have bought clear corners at your local Mazda dealer for $35.00each plus tax.If your local dealer will not order for you give me a call.

I was looking to get some clear corners as well but I am afraid of import costs as can be seen by tee_rx8's experience.

How would the dealership have them?

Hello All,

Best place to get the clear side markers in Canada is Maurice at canzoomer.com .... he has them for $70.00 Canadian which is the cheapest I could find. Mine should be here on Friday ... can't wait! Hope that helps ...

Second that.. I got my rotary accent, clear corners and deflectors from him! The best way to ship is to do the sale locally if possible. Usually shops/dealers have their own shipping brokers that lower the cost, but you end up paying the difference through mark-ups anyway, but don't have to worry about damages. In my experience, it is almost impossible to tell the brokerage fees as they all range from 15-30% regardless of shipping company. Some like USPS allows you to defer the payment (if that helps), while others demand payment up front. I guess it all depends on the mood of the customs officer.

But i think other parts such as body kit, suspension... from canzoom are expensive. Do they have ACT flywheel? I want to improve the hp of the car, and mandatory the pick up speed. Dont want to revi like crazy but still slow especially up hill.Oh by the way, i saw a sexy black rx8 at york u today with auto ban body kit i think, and nice wheel too.

When expecting something from UPS you can phone with your tracking number and tell them you will clear your package through customs yourself.
Very easy to do. Pick up the paperwork, take it to customs, pay the applicable taxes/duties, get customs stamp, and take paper back to UPS and get your parcel.
They make it sound like they are doing a lot of work for the fee.
Canada post charges 5 bucks to do the same things, regardless of the value.
Most courier companies are located near the local customs dept.
I ordered a 20 dollar book and UPS wanted 28 dollars to clear it through customs.

If I walked into a bank with a gun and demanded 28 dollars I would be thrown in jail.
