Annual Vancouver Duffy Lake Run

So, its almost that time of year again when the weather will start looking up again, and we are going to need to start planning the next drive through the twisties.

So, I am thinking of planning this for April, to give us time to get good weather and have it all planned again. Plus I am not available for March due to vacation plans... which make it difficult.

We managed to get 7 of us out last year, and I would love for us to continue the growth of this.

I am almost certain we can count on Eldon, Mark, Rohit, and Lawrence again, Usoff, if he comes back into the country would be a great addition as always.

Hopefully this thread will get the old thought processes rolling, and we can get more people interested in this. Eldon, should we do a videography again?
I can try to get Grace to come out and be our camera girl.... hehehe

Should we maybe do a meet earlier in the month, or even earlier, to meet any new members who might be interested as well? Or maybe to show the video which Eldon made last year?

Just some extra thoughts to get this ball rolling.

You can definately count on me being there. I've been looking forward to this since... well... since we finished our run last year! =P

Yes, I'll be happy to lend my camcorder out to shoot some video again. And anyone interested in seeing the video from last year, please let me know. I can give you a copy or show some people at one of our meets.

I'll be at the Vancouver meet on Jan 28 or 29, so I'll definately bring the video to show people!

THIS WILL BE AWESOME!

essentially, the drive consists of meeting up in North Van in the early morning, 8am or so, we then drive to Whistler, lilooet, cache creek, down to Hope, then back to Van, with stops, and lunch/dinner breaks, its an all day drive, but worth it if you want to see how your car handles in some nice twisties, and have a good time with other 8 fans

Did the drive twice last year...once with the Miata Guys and once with a buddy.

It's a great drive......everyone in Van should go and make a day of it

Just don't let it interfere with one of my track days again this year

I am thinking a saturday, this way we can recover the next day, or take our time coming in from Hope, or even go for a drink afterwards

so, tell me which weekend in April is good then, so we can get you included this year

Sorry... I'm very new to video editting... I TRIED to compress it so people could download it off the net... but I think it only worked with Quicktime 7.0 or something... (I'm using a Mac.... iLife...)

Anyways, I'd be more than happy if someone else took the DVD I made and published a web version for everyone else... The editted video is only like 4minutes long....

Haha. Yeah.... Or better yet... we should just change the thread name to something like "New Girl Goes On Annual Vancouver Duffy Lake Run."

hahaha... next time I will give you both a call, and maybe you will be able to come out.
And yes, you two are definitely invited to the wedding. And depending on how many volunteers for the processional... I am going to try to invite all the drivers to the reception too. Only thing we cant afford for it is the booze, so we are trying to get a place with a bar so people can still get nice and drunk.

I hope I'll have an RX-8 by then then if I can score a good deal then I'm game for sure. I've driven the Duffy Lake road like 50 times because I have family in lillooet, I'd say it's the best road in BC, you know one better please tell me about it, if only they made the surface a little smoother it would be perfect. One time I got a little air off one of the bumps in the road and it scared the sh*t out me, so be careful. Also if you want some nice pics of your car in nice scenerey their are some good places for photos. I'm not sure about going back through hope, that part of the drive is a little boaring, but I guess it's better then going back the same way, mabyee their are some back roads off the highway that are more interesting, I dont know but it would be worth looking into.
