What Speed?

New owner (and loving it). Question for you. Having read in many posts about the thrill of 9000, and now having the first service, at what speed , and in what gear are you when you hit 9? Haven't been over 6 yet, but when I look at the speedo - holy shiezenhauzen, I am already over the speed limit!

Hmm ... I hit 115-120, but that may be the way I change gears.

Since when is 312kph excessive? HAHAHA

For the record, I doubt the speedo in the dash would be accurate above 240 ...

And I doubt a stock car has exceeded 240.

Umm *cough* yeah.

I believe it could get over 240 easily unless Mazda have put some sort of speed restriction on the vehicle as the car is rather slippery stock.

I think what Mazda put in a restriction call wind resistance and low power NA rotary.

Wind resistance isn't the problem on a crisp still day, it's the 1.293kg/m^3 of air density at 0C that would be the issue.

That may well be. My point was that I'm yet to see any credible evidence of a stock car exceeding that kind of number in the real world.

Car & Driver did report 150mph (241 kmh) but most others fall into the high 130's, low 140's mph - i.e. under 240 kmh.

Don't know if it is stock or modded but this one gets 244 kph, I think.

Still a far cry from 312 though, think you would have to be going down hill with the wind behind you in a cyclone or something to achieve that one!!
