A couple of pix...

Well I really enjoyed myself on the weekend. Thanks to those who came along. For a newbie like me just meeting up with people with knowledge of RX8s is so valuable. Plus with something in common there are immediate friendships that can be formed...

Next meet up it would be great to see one or two more cars... I'm thinking we should do something at Christmas.. BBQ with the family and anyone else who wants to come along. Between now and then I will try and get some interest going.

One idea is if you see an RX8 parked on the road, put something under a wiper directing them to the RX8 club website.. have something prepared in your glovebox ready to go!

Anyway - Christmas we could go to Spencer Park or the Groynes - or if anyone knows somewhere a little out of town where there are BBQ facilities???

Great idea. Unfortunately a lot of my work is out of town so I dont see many 8s but when I move back into town I can do a lot more.

I was pretty impressed with your wheel tyre and suspension set up though. It's pure quality

Hey Stephen, maybe you would like to have a go at putting an event on?
Could be fun.

I was thinking the same down here. Trying to get a good size group of enthusiasts when you're dealing with an uncommon car in a smallish city is quite hard.

I'm keen as for the BBQ idea, will try and get to most if not all events in the future.
May be a good idea to start a new thread for this one when it gets off the ground (easier to find that way)

Totally bummed I missed this, was on the Coast.

Anyone keen for a meet this weekend of next? Thinking something along the lines of Sat 2pm meet in roadside carpark opposite Zeroes café on Cashmere Rd, bottom of Hackthorne, then shoot over the hill and out to Wheatsheaf Tavern in Governors Bay for a cheeky beer and some car talk. If keen, PM your mobile number and we'll take it from there.

Sounds real similar to what we got upto a couple of weekends ago Jimmy, I had fun and would do it again for sure.
Can't do this weekend unfortunately and not 100% sure on next either.
Put me down for a maybe for next weekend at this stage.

Ha, you and me both hard at work today.
Lets pencil in Sat the 16th - might have my new header installed by then. Definitely keen to do a run over the hill, so anyone with ideas along these lines shout out.

So anyone in Chch that can make it for a drive on the Hills this Saturday 16th, post a reply with a time you want to go.

Meeting at the car park opposite Zeroes café on Cashmere Rd, near the bottom of Hackthorne (from town end of cashmere rd the river/roadside parking area on the right before the cafe).

Installed a new header on the car last weekend and looking forward to wringing it out on some nice roads. Best mod to date for me.

Afternoon would suit me more, say 2:30pm? Got a bit of stuff to get done in the weekend but I can make time for this I think.
