How to ship tires'?

Hi, I have just sold my RX8 tires on eBay and want to know what's the best method to ship them? I mean where do I find the boxes for them? Any idea? Thanks

I believe they will take them without boxes, individually. Not all taped together. That is how I ship wheels and tires mounted.

Agreed, I shipped some wheels/tires to Wheel Collision Center once without boxes.

If you want boxes, I bet local tire stores will have some they're throwing away—probably be happy to give 'em to you.

I have shipped at least 10 tires through UPS online. I shipped each tire separately, each with their own shipping label, each w/o a box, and classified it as oversize 1 packaging. However, because there is no box, UPS always does a surcharge of about $6 / tire after the fact -- so you may save a little if shipped in a box. When all said an done, it costs between 25-30 / tire to ship via UPS.

Does it have to be a box to save the cash? What about wrapping em in the brown tape.

I had tires shipped to me once from a dealer. They were banded up in pairs. Strong tape should work too.
You might try Fed EX ground. I hear they are cheaper than UPS.

Tires.com, discount tires, and any tire company usually ship it without boxes on them. Just put those shipping labels on the top of the tires and your all good to go. It is safe to ship them without boxes. Use Fedex or UPS ground for cheaper shipping costs.
