will i disable the airbags from doing this?

so im planning to put a racing seat onto my car, in order to do that i have to unplug the side air bag, and im sure that the airbag will come on. but my question is if the airbag light is on, will it disable all the airbags (front airbags, curtains)???

I do the same thing. The Air Bag light comes on. The only way to find out if the front bags work would be to get into a crash. In this day of lawsuits it would seem stupid for a malfunctioning side airbag to cause the whole system to fail.

that what im hopping too!
since i have a GT, i will be already loosing the power seat, heated seat and the side airbag. i dont want to lose the whole airbag system just because of one seat!
i also heard there is some kinda chip that you plug into the side airbag plug and the airbog light will not goes on, is that true?

I choose to stare at the light, than mess with the wiring of this car.

If the airbag light is on, the bags"may" not deploy in the event of a crash...

Well if all your seats are in then the air bag light means there is a problem with the system and it could be any or all of them. In our case the air bag light is on because we took out the seats with the side air bags. So I know why the light is on in my case, lack of side air bags. The fronts will work because nothing is wrong with them ( in theory ).
