View Full Version : 300 hp! Turbo that thing! STI inside.

Let me preface my message with this: I'm an RX-8 owner, and I'm most likely keeping it. :D

My coworker picked up a WRX STI last night. HOLY SHIT THAT THING IS A ROCKET! The 300hp was a huge difference over my rx8. At around 4000 rpm the turbo was spinning and it leaped forward. I only hope we can turbo the 8 to 300 hp one day.

As for the rest of the STI? Blah. I don't like the boxy style, the blue spandex cloth interior the huge spoiler or the hood scoop. The shifter throw was longer than I liked (longer than the 8). Overall I think he's going to have a blast at the auto-cross and rally events but for me, the the styling and overall package goes to the 8. Damn I want to turbo my car now!

Oh and he let his girlfriend drive his S2000 because he just couldn't give it up.

It's a damn fast car, though if I wanted a rally-type car I'd likely go with the Evo. Not as fast (but still fast) but apparently a lot easier to drive and more fun.

No doubt that the STi and Evo are amazing cars, just not my cup of tea.

Easier to drive? The EVO is more of a pain to put up with as a daily driver. Much more rough and such.

I love the STi, and the EVO is awesome too. Just my cup of tea ;).
