In the USA they cars have some stickers under the hood installed at port prep time.
There is a thread on this at:

I do not see these in my RX-8, so I wonder if this happened in Canada.

The main one I am concerned about is the replacement of the oil dipsticks.

One quote from that topic says that the USA replaced the dipsticks with ones that are "correct".
That kind of worries me..

I called Mazda Canada today and asked them about the dipstick question.
They are supposed to have been changed for Canada.
They told me to have a look at my engine oil dipstick, and , if it has a white stripe around the top it is the original, and if it lacks the stripe, then it is the newer corrected version.
I checked mine, and it is the correct newer version with no white stripe.

Also asked about the floormat problem ( with the hole in the wrong place) and they tell me new floor mats are on the way to the dealers already..
The dealers should call us to tell us to come in to pick them up.
I also asked about the claimed power question, which was deftly dodged, with a claim that they had not heard about the people who did dyno tests.

BTW, if calling Mazda Canada, I highly commend a lady there named Marie.
She is very clear, professional, and friendly.
I posed my 3 questions and she called me back in a half hour.
That is good service!

Excellent!

Thanks my friend.

Looks like we now have to hold Mazda Canada to accounts.
BecauseI do NOT trust them to just call us..

I am looking forward to my free service.

I certainly will not be handing back my car.
230HP or 250, I still like it a lot.

Besides, nothing a good blower can't improve if I really want a lot more horsepower.

Let's see now, service for 4 years would cost about half the price for a blower kit.

Hmmm...
;)

Probably service for 3 years, remember we canucks only get a 3 year warranty not a 4 year! Although it is 80,000K I'll never get anywhere near 80,000K in 3 years.

I want more than $500 if they get $500 USD and 4 years maintenance I want $700 CDN 3 years maintenance and 1 extra year bumper to bumper!

I paid an extra $595 at purchase for the warranty extension to 4 years, as provided by Mazda Canada.

Ah yes, but this won't cover that extended warranty. It will only cover the manufacturer warranty.

Otherwise you could got out and buy the 7 year one and get free maintenance for 7 years. Sorry only 3.

I received my new floormat from the dealer before going on vacation, Aug 14th (the day of the power outage in Ontario).
