i love hipermax coilovers, and i am thinking of buying these, but i have a few questions? ive not heard any body talk of hipermax coilovers for this car, is that just because they are very new and no one has them, or is it because ppl dont want them.
also on toyotas, which is what i have seen them for more frequently, they are in the $2200 mark, but they are in the $1500 range for this car?
if anyone wants to post their thoughts on the above or anything else, all help would be appreciated!

i am getting them as well and am fitting them on this sat, price in Singapore is about USD1500 fitted as well. The real stuff looks good and pretty well made, it is also quite light in weight and i figure should be better than stock in terms of weight. Hypermax II is more than comfort which wat i am looking for, will feedback ride once i had it on this sat!!!

not yet, my rims are actually still on the way from Japan, as it is a 2 piece forged rims, it has to be custom made and it takes 2 months to reach Singapore from time of order. will take photo once i had it on to show you.

hm, the HKS sounds really attractive. Comfortable ride and better handling? I heard that tein's will come out sometime this month? From other posts I think teins are more towards performance? rather than comfort? Is that true? If so, I guess I will go for HKS too.. :]

btw Spyder, I ordered some volks racing too, CE28N bronze. unfortunately only 1 piece forged..what size is ur rims?

Regarding the Teins it might depend on how many models they will release for the 8. I have tein HA on my Prelude and they are definitely designed for racing/handling over comfort. :D

Does anyone know what the stock spring rates are for the 8? Because the HKS rates in that link are 450/280 lb/in which is not that high.. My TeinHa are 671/448 :)

yep, tein is designing something for the 8 but i heard it is the flex which is meant more for comfort, i had use tein all along (HA) and they are pretty hard but good handling, the reason that i am trying out the HKS is that when i saw the actual thing, the finish was really good and the coilovers are pretty light as well. feedback from a mate that fitted on Tuesday that it is pretty good and the ride is not as harsh as he had expected. Saw his car yesterday, the ride height is prefect, the look is enough to have me convinced, doing it tom.

bond - as the car was designed with a 50 50 weight distri in ind, i did not change the size (keeping to 18-8) but rather the offset to have a more aggressive look.

Front Offset 38 (dish - 44cm)
Rear Offset 31 (dish - 69cm)

With a offset of 31 at the rear vs 38 at the front, the car would most likely under-steer more which i hope can be compensated with suspension tuning with the HKS coilovers

im going more towards the performance side of things, i really want to drift...ad the car is a really good platform for drifting i beleive given the right components and driver:cool: ....i really want to see what JIC are thinking about.....i love their products....

I believe using "performance" and "drift" in the same sentence like that is called an oxymoron. :)

got it fitted 3 days ago and has been enjoying it since.

ride - i would't exactly go as far as saying that it is as or more comfortable than original but the ride is not harsh but firm. (Butt test) on my wife - did not exactly told my wife that i am fitting the coilovers and was waiting for her to complain about car being uncomfortable as she did with my tein HA - HKS passed the test with flying colours - she did not utter a single word

performance - definitely better, i will take this particular wide corner everyday on the way to work. original - best done was 80 km/h b4 experiencing any roll HKS - 95km/h w/o a problem

product - HKS score full marks in this area - finishing was super nice with high polish metal the design was end user friendly - front can be adjusted easily, rear had always been a problem with most coilovers but HKS had design a extender to make adjusting easily , all it takes is just 2 minutes now. 30 points dampering adjustments.

looks - need not go much in this area, smiling everytime i see the car

Any chance you can post pics of your car with the new coilovers installe? I think the stock ride height could use some lowering, and if I do upgrade the suspension I'd like to do it right with something like the HKS or Mazdaspeed parts.

Did your HKS coils tame the body roll? Did you change the stabilizers? Would you recommend the Mazdaspeed F&R stabilizers?
