I have been hearing a non-rhythmic clicking sound at very low speeds (1-4 mph) from the outside of the car near the ground that immediately goes away when I go faster. I thought it was from the front until today I stuck my head out the window and heard it from the rear. Is this the same issue covered under a TSB? Note: I have non-stock wheels.

The sound could almost be described as exactly what a car (#) sounds like when a lug falls off a steel wheel (#) with metal hub caps. Clank-clank at low speeds, but then the lug just gets pinned to the side at higher speeds and no sound. (had that happen to me years ago in a datsun (#) 210.) I regularly check my torques on my lugs and have them set at around 100 ft lbs. 108 is a little too high for me. WHat is this NOISE!!!!

you should torque your lug nut to 88 ft/lbs.
it may be your center cap that making the noise

I completely agree with the 88ft/lbs, but the TSB suggests 108.

I didnt even have center caps until yesterday!!!! I just got them after a 3 month backorder!

I have had the same noise (rattle, clank) for the last 6 months also one other.
It has been getting worse with time.
So one weekend I spent 2 hours with a rubber hammer and the car up on jack stands and found both of the noises.

First: The metal ringing sound when the RPM passes through 6000 (like a nut in a can) is something in the cat assy back by the resonator. I will have to take off the cat assy to see what it is. I does not sound like ceramic it’s a metal on metal sound (zinging).

Second: The noise at low speeds while going over small bumps, like cracks in the road where your wheel is dropping from one surface to another something about an inch. The problem is/was the auto leveling headlight sensor.
If you tap on the suspension link that the sensor is hooked to it rattles and clanks, you can tap on the right side suspension parts and make it rattle the sensor.
The sensor looks and feels fine.

I should update this even though I figured this out over a year ago. Turns out that one of the two skinny nuts that hold (or pull) the schrader valve in the RP-F1rims came loose and was rattling around in the tire at low speeds. Once I sped up, it would get spun out to the tire centripaedlly and not rattle. Easy fix, but I couldn't do it myself for obvious reasons. I figured it out when I took the wheel off to rotate it.
