Hello all! I currently own a '05 6 and looking at trading it in for a leftover '05 8

Wasnt too sure what the appearance package exactly was until I searched around here and saw some great pictures and comparsions.

I personally am a big fan of the factory option, however the car I am looking at does not have that included.

Question being ... is this something that I can get added to the deal I am working on??? Such as asking them to add it to the car, or is it not going to do-able? Too far-fetched?

(Also on another note, I am working on two deals: $5600 off MSRP (OTD) OR $7060 off MSRP (+TTL) ... pretty much similar once fees are added. Could I do better or is that acceptable? Any ideas when/if Mazda would add incentives with this being May 1?)

The appearance package can be added on with some labor.

You can add it on aftermarket. I bought a 05 leftover that already had the appearance package but i made them add the rotary accent before I took delivery and negotiated an overall price. I got 10 grand off msrp+TTL.

Only issue is that dealer-installed is never as good as factory ...

i just bought a brand new 05 touring , and negotiated the whole appearance pkg and got 10k of msrp....... if you have the money ready... Dealers will run around like chickens with their heads off.... do it, be straight up with them!

Only issue is that dealer-installed is never as good as factory ...I believe the appearance package is a port-installed option (like the rear spoiler). So it isn't done in the factory either.
How much better (or worse) the port installation is compared to the dealer, I have no idea. I suppose it can go either way.
