Can the RX-8 take normal fuel injection chemicals Like these:
http://www.mightyautoparts.com/products/products_vs7_fuel.html#intakecleaner
I've got my own fuel injuection cleaning kit where I hook up to a vacuum line usually off of the brake booster, etc. Use them regularly on my other vehicles (QX4 and a Jeep Wrangler) but just wanted to "double check" before using on my RX-8.
BTW, I got a 4,000 mile service card in the mail the other day "fuel induction service for $189.00" Seems pretty high since the chemicals usually only cost around $10.00

I've never had any issues using fuel injector cleaners on rotaries so I don't see what the problem would be with th RX-8.
What do you mean you hook up to a vacuum line off of the brake booster?

I just had my car serviced, 35K miles. Actually had it towed in cuz it wouldnt start (1st time ever). Anyway, they replaced the starter, plugs, battery plug wires all under warrenty. I paid for the induction sys cleaning ~200$ . Well lets say I was very happy and im getting 2 mpg better (16mpg whoohooo). Maybe it was the plugs maybe the fuel system cleaning?? But the car has more power (butt dyno) and 2 mpg's better. Im not sure how they did the cleaning but I got a PO302 code when I drove away. Went back, cleared it, not seen again.

I was talking about hooking it up to the vacuum i.e. brake booster. I did it a few times and cleaned the throttle plate with cleaner and rags. seemed to work good... can't tell if it ever helped mpg
