Well,

It's finally here...going to pick it up at the dealer today after prep. I'll post some pics soon, but in the meantime just wanted to let some of you know that if Mazda was estimating ETA of 4th week in August (as they did me) it seems they are getting here a bit earlier...I saw one or two other posts that stated the same.

FWIW...Weisleder in Brick, NJ has a red one sitting right out front...they said it is spoken for, but you could probably get a test drive.

CONGRATS!!!!! :D :D :D

And, yes, please post pics!

Question: when was your build date? I'm just trying to figure out when my 8 will arrive. Mine was built on 7/24 and shipped 7/29 with a delivery date for Sept - week 2 (based on a call to Mazda).

As for the build date and timelines, I don't think my dealer processed it correctly because I didn't receive it in the first allocation. I ordered 1/8/03...first day for pre-orders, build date was 5/28, arrived today.

jerzeydevil, congrats! Seems like Friday is a good day for us East-Coasters! Please post LOTS of pics as soon as you can (I know I will be).

And OmegaBob, if it helps, mine was built 6/26 (I ordered Feb 1st) and has made it's way over here, to port, and to the dealer in just over a month- and that's WITH the rotary package, appearance package, and spoiler- so port options aren't holding them back all that much. I'll bet you see yours the end of this month/very beginning of September.

It sounds like they're finally caught up on port inspections/installations and delivery after the initial delay fiasco. Mine was also built on 6/26 (though I didn't order until mid-May, my dealer changed the upholstery on an existing order for me), and I took delivery on 8/6, one day shy of 6 weeks later.

Thx for that info Elara!

I can't wait to see pics of both yours and jerzey's cars - its very comforting to see other member's cars - proves that it's not a dream (if ya know what I mean)

CONGRATS to both of ya!!!! :) :)

Just want to say congrats on the car Looks good. I hope you guys are correct about them shippin it early I just called today and the Estimated Dilievery date on my Green one is first week in sept. I hope that isn't just another false hope. I would like to get a person outlook on how the car handles and rides rather than relying on Motortrend and Car and driver if you get a chance to pull your self from behind the wheel I would like to know how it handles, rides, overall feel for it. All you guys that have already recieved your cars know you have the duty of enjoying it for all of us till we get ours . Nice Car!

I have had my 8 for about a week and a half... She likes it best when you slide her sideways...
