i was just curious on to what is the "CORRECT" procedure to add oil when needed. (when correct, i mean like should i wait few minutes after turning it off b4 i pour the oil?)

Add some wait a moment then check the level again. repeat until you have brought the oil to the full line always check the oil warm and engine off always check/fill tires "cold" i.e. not having been driven on in an hour or so. preferably overnight. djseto 02-21-2006, 05:56 PM Yes. A warm engine means the oil is warm and viscous so you get a more accurate reading of how much is in the engine.
