Find a good shop local with some rotary experience, I am assuming you'll be using a Motec to control it?

your local dealership

This is a joke right? Only if you want a poor job and pay WAY too much $$$. :rollingla

i heard acosta has horrible service as well.

what is a fair price for such a swap? 60k sounds very very high!

jwbond what is your budget to spend? That may be any easy way to see if it is possible.

no set budget...however, at a certain point you have realize that the money can be spent for other performance modifications that would produce better results.

i would think 15K is more like it, but what do i know...

Did you call mazsport? might need to spend a little more, but 15 is a good start.

Just curious, what's making you lean towards wanting to do this modification?

you can get the engines for 4-6 k rebuilt, new rotors and housings and 3mm apex seals. accessories like turbo and making a custom wiring harness and tuning are what will kill you.

the labor cost involved in all the custom fabbing and such will kill you too ;)

edit: it would probably cheaper just to throw an LS1 in it :naughty:

Hey man, I've got a 20B motor sitting in the shop ready for a full rebuild and porting.
I'd be really interested in doing a swap into an RX-8....I've been wanting to swap the motor into something unique. Not like an RX-7, its been done to death.
I'm just north of the boarder from you, so let me know!

Hey, Guys it is a real deal, Dont waste more money try to make more power from renesis that's can do. Switch to 20B is more reliable power and you can uses as daily drive with just 9 boost you will produce over 450 + RWHP with pump gas, without making any modification to the entire drivetrain. Go heads, guys.

Hey rgonza, I've followed your thread about your car real closely and I love it !!!!!

Up here in Canada there is nobody that has a 20B RX-8....theres only a couple Greddy turbo'ed ones in Ontario, thats it!

jwbond - 15k is very realistic, if you are serious about this, please pm me. I'd be very interested in doing this!

i dont think he has done a 20b in an 8 but i know hes putting one in a fd rite now
his prices are reasonable and his work has been better than most rotary tuners that ive seen. hes also done several greddy kits
