Thumbs up New RX-8 Owners should know.....

RX-8 owners should know how thier Rotory engine works, if they don't already. I did a search and could not find this anywhere on here, so if it has been posted, it hasn't been in a while. So here it is, pretty good explaination with diagrams and animation. So anyone who is interested, enjoy.

If you REALLY want to know about the insides of the rotary engine, go to RotaryAviation.com and order the DVD on rebuilding the 13B engine. Very educational even if you don't plan on doing a rebuild yourself.

I went to that site when I first purchased my car and I must say, the site is very valuable. I learned so much just from that article.

Yeah, me too. I mean I had an idea as to how the engine worked from HS autoshop like 14 years ago. However this just gave me all the specs and details. Nice.

You got me there. I typed how stuff works instead of howstuffworks. Made a huge differance. Anyhow, I am sure people will get some use out of this link.

Not only should 8 owners understand their engines, Mazda should test prospective owners!

I can see it now.

Dealer: I sorry sir but I can't sell you this RX-8. You didn't properly explain the effects of porting on intake and exhaust timing in the essay portion of the exam. You'll have to go to a Nissan dealer and buy a 350Z.

Customer: Noooooooooo!!

Dealer: Wait a minute... You even plagaurized from Rotarygod's synthetic oil thread! Now you have to go to the Ford dealer and buy a domestic.

Customer:
