I had the same problem, the only way I could get it to stop was to complete the trip... might be easier if you are done at work and set the destination as home (assuming this is where you are going). Unfortunately I don't think there is a way to terminate the trip

correct press the menu buttom then at the bottom of the screen it will show delete destination.it drove me nuts until i found this option

On mine the bottom option is "Turn Off Guidance". Same thing, different words.

Press the center button down when the map is up......once that is done, you will get a list of options, vertical stacked on top of the map. Select "Delete Destination"
