Thank you Yuhki,

This is a first regarding the Navi-less RX-8. I am quite displeased at the fact that they didn't include an extra storage bin where the Nav was suppose to go.

I was hoping to put a PDA GPS in there. Thank you for taking the time to send over the pictures.

Regards,

Rooster

Actually I'm glad they didn't put a bin there. From the other cars I've seen the bin usually looks cheap and flimsy. Maybe later on Mazda might make a bin and all you would have to do is swap out that plastic panel.

How does the "pass-through" work? Does the panel just fold down or does it just come off completely?

Read something from Mazda (hardcover, maybe?) that that it folds down about half-way or so for access to articles in the trunk, and removes completely for storing long items.

Do you think it would be easy to install the Mazda Navi lator. I plan on waiting for ebay maybe lator. 2k is too expensive for a toy likr that.

Is there any way to make the shallow storage bins in the front and rear deeper?
Does anyone know what's underneath these bins?
Right next to them are cup holders that go pretty deep.
Could the bottoms be cut out while leaving a ledge to hold a dropped-in tupperware-type rectangular bowl?

The backbone of the car is under there. This backbone is what facilitates the "elimination" of the B pillar. The cupholders are just in a place where there is a little extra room. If you go to Mazda's website, you can find some nice pictures.
